Glass becomes ice and stone

Sculptural glass for architecture

David Ruth, an artist from Oakland, California, is known for his individual cast glass for collectors, architects and designers. He has developed a wide range of aesthetic techniques and applications for his glass sculptures and architectural applications.

The project "Colorado Cascades" shows the beauty of his glass art: a 2.7 x 7 meter and 210 kilogram heavy rock wall made of glass adorns the entrance area of a chalet in the ski resort of Colorado. This wall extends over two floors and consists of a total of 30 insulating glass panels. It was sedak's know-how that made the installation of the weighty glass façade possible.

We accompanied the course of the project on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) There you can find out in detail what the different production steps looked like: bit.ly/2ZEiB8x
