Fassade, the series of events by DETAIL, deals with products, materials and technologies as well as rules and policies pushing the development of the building envelope constantly. Aspects like profitability, sustainibility and energy efficiency affect the range of what a facade can provide. Where is this development heading? What has to be kept in mind when constructing future facades? And how will design possibillities change due to new methods of production?
"Fassade - Trends und Perspektiven zur Gebäudehülle" looks at the possibillities of contemporary and future facade architecture from different points of view. Additionally it presents current projects of research and development.
sedak supports this event and will be present as an exhibitor and speaker talking about "Perfect Esthetics Fully Automated - Architecture with Oversize Insulating Glass". The lecture by Ralf Scheurer, sales engineer at sedak GmbH & Co. KG, will be related to the trend towards maximum transparency when designing a glass facade. The usage of oversize glass units produced with special lamination technologies replaces opaque subconstructions and frames ever more. This enables spacious esthetics.
Up to now, oversize insulating glass has often rather not been used for production reasons. The manual assembling, the high weights of the glass units and the resulting costs have limited using glass panes in maximum formats. New developed machines now allow to produce oversize insulating glass units up to 15m fully automated with a high precision. Thus, the maximum formats are available to a broad market.
The kickoff of the series of events will be on 17th September in the "Museum für Kommunikation" in Frankfurt.
